Armed with a multifaceted skill set cultivated through rigorous academic pursuits in African American Studies, Technology Entrepreneurship, Childhood Education, and Management, Kamara’s journey stands as a testament to the art of transformation.
At the heart of her narrative lies Breaking the Ice Consulting, a venture she boldly founded in 2020. Within this realm, Kamara’s unique blend of insight and strategy finds expression in meticulously crafted research and reports, shaping businesses’ trajectories with precision. However, her role extends beyond these technical aspects; it’s about nurturing sustainable leadership and fostering growth.
But Kamara’s journey is far from one-dimensional. As the Outreach and Program Coordinator at the Dingman Center for Entrepreneurship, she embodies her commitment to nurturing innovation. Her role revolves around propelling entrepreneurship boot camps, embodying the very essence of fostering emerging talent in the Prince George’s County Ecosystem.
Her entrepreneurial spirit also finds its pulse in Iced Out Cosmetics, a brand she nurtured to life in 2018. More than a makeup line, it’s a testament to Kamara’s unwavering commitment to inclusivity and empowerment. As a fourth-generation female founder, her role as CEO goes beyond products; it’s about driving change, amplifying voices, and standing as a beacon for future generations.
Bridging continents, Kamara’s ties to Sierra Leone run deep. Her commitment to working with family in Sierra Leone encapsulates her dedication to empowering communities beyond borders. This connection adds a layer of authenticity to her journey, infusing her work with a personal touch that transcends continents.
The symphony of her journey resonates with the echoes of her time at Walker’s Legacy. As a Communication Intern, Kamara’s contribution extended beyond her roles—she became an architect of empowerment. Her design and development of curricula and program plans left an indelible mark, shaping the paths of young learners.
At Winrock International Kamara’s dedication to diversity, equity, and inclusion as she played a role in the Farmer-to-Farmer (F2F) Program. Her work reflected her commitment to fostering communication, bridging gaps, and ensuring that every voice is heard.
Yet another pivotal chapter unfolded at the Initiative For A Competitive Inner City (ICIC), where Kamara’s role as a Program Analyst showcased her prowess in providing programmatic support. Her knack for optimizing processes and innovation within programmatic boundaries stood as a testament to her ability to drive impactful change. As a program analyst Kamara served on the 10,000 Small Business Team working closely with the Baltimore and Detroit sites and participating in the inaugural launch of One Million Black Women: Black in Business.
A profound aspect of Kamara’s journey was her association with Dingman Center and Do Good Institute at the University of Maryland. This experience fortified her with practical skills, refining her ability to transform ideas into impactful ventures.
